Lead Safe Certification

• Our company will arrange an appointment with your tenant/appointed representative to perform the lead test. This test consists of “swabbing” each of the bedrooms’ floors, the windowsills (2 tests per bedroom), and one common area (usually a kitchen or a living room).

• Depending upon your municipalities requirements, this test will consist of one of two types of inspections:

  • 1) a visual inspection (checking for cracked, chipped or

    peeling paint on all painted surfaces) .

  • 2) depending upon the municipality, we will also perform a

    lead dust test. The lead dust test will consist of

    “swabbing” each of the bedrooms’ floors, the

    windowsills (2 tests per bedroom), and one common

    area (usually a kitchen or a living room).

• For a dust test, we will then submit each of the samples to our 3rd party laboratory for a detailed test of each sample (they used an acid test protocol).  The lab takes approximately 7 business days to provide results (but can be sooner if you want to pay for expedited service).

• Once the laboratory completes your analysis, our simplified service will provide you with the following:

  • Lead Safe Certification

  • Laboratory Report 

  • Filing instructions for your Municipality

In the unlikely case, if an area of the house fails the test, we are required to report this information to your local municipality.
